European trip. 2016

A small record of our annual migration by car to the Dolomites and back.


We stay at Westmere Farm near Spurn Point.
It is a nice friendly place to rest up for a couple of nights.
Bright airey room.
With a view over the Humber.

The ferry for Zeebrugge leaves Hull as seen from our cabin.
After driving through Germany we stayed at Hotel Alatsee on Austrian border.

It is a comfortable mini apartment.

We have climbed up as we usually do.,

Grey Wagtail on the stream that leaves the lake.
It's a regular place to find Dippers.
And Red Squirrels.

Now we are in "Judith's". Full name Tierser Alpl. 2,440 metres.
From our window.
View east towards Langkofel and Sella. On a clear day you can see Cortina.
A friendly Marmot.
Alpine flowers abound. Field Gentian is very common up here.
Lovely and inspiring footpaths criss cross the area..

This is the one towards Bozen Hutte.
